COMMERCIAL PHONE SEX

Phone sex is a highly commercialised industry, employing sex workers who specialise in ‘phone acting’, ‘adult phone entertaining’, ‘audio erotic performing’, or as ‘fantasy artists’, or any one of other monikers. Most valued attributes of phone sex professionals include voice, acting, sexual role-play skills, and an ability to discern and respond appropriately to their customers’ broad spectrum of requests.

Such requests can include a plethora of sexual fantasy, fetish, and taboos that most customers find impossible to engage in during real life sexual encounters for reasons of psychological inhibitions, lack of sexual confidence and experience, unwillingness of a committed life-partner, lack of physical ability, fear of social stigma, and moral or legal ramifications.

The most obvious purpose of phone sex is to deliver a masturbation aid, but for some customers, a phone sex worker becomes a ‘surrogate’, a ‘friend’, or a‘ therapist’, where they can anonymously offload intimate secrets and sexual taboos, with no restrictions or consequences to fear.
